Halftime!

Posted by Healthful Elements Staff

This post is an installment in our 52 Health Hinges series. Remember, “Small hinges swing big doors.”

It’s hard to believe that we’re halfway through our 52 weeks together. But it’s true! I’ve been coming at you every Wednesday for 26 weeks. I hope you’ve learned something and had a little fun, too.

When we started our journey together last January, did you set any goals for yourself? If so, now is a great time to check in to see how you’re doing. Are you happy with your progress? If so, great! I’m doing my job.

If not, why?

Of the ideas that you’ve tried, which have moved the needle for you? Which ones weren’t for you? (Remember, it’s okay for some ideas to not resonate with you…we’re all different.)

Of the ideas that you haven’t tried, are there any that you’re ready to try now? To review all of the posts, you can go here and scroll through until you see something that catches your eye.

Some of my favorites that really made a positive impact on MY life are:

How about you?

What have you implemented in the last six months that’s resulted in a noticeable change in your health and wellbeing?

Where are you stuck? Do you have a strategy to un-stick yourself? If you think you’re ready for a more targeted approach, you can always schedule a Jumpstart session with me here.

I’d love to hear from you in the comments on the blog or Facebook so I can cheer you on.

I’ve got a lot of juicy ideas in store for you in our next six months together. Cheers!

Hi, I somewhat look at your blog because my little sister occasionally shares and likes this blog. I have struggled through life with weight issues. I recently had surgery that makes it more comfortable to exercise; it was a double mastectomy. I joined the gym after I healed. A while back I posted a question when the theme was what questions can you answer? I live primarily on $67 food stamp benefits and can supplement from my $733 SSI income around $40 to $50 Which makes my food budget for the month about $120. I try to eat healthy and I budget and use coupons fairly well but I find the issue of buying fresh food hard. Do you have any ideas beside frozen fruits and veggies? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Caden! Jill G. wrote an article on eating healthy on a budget a few years back. Her article may have some good ideas for you. https://www.healthfulelements.com/sites/default/files/article-pdfs/healthy_on_budget.pdf

Jill. I have really enjoyed your essays and admonitions.. You are very honest and inspiring and have a gift of making us not think badly or shamefully about not doing everything correct 100%.. But your gradual gentle approach has helped me too. My goals were pretty much the same as yours also. I have given up sugar and eat mostly a no/lo carb diet and that makes me feel better. I joined a csa and get organ or produce every week which has been different for me. I lost 20 lbs so far and feel in control of my health/life better than when I did nothing.. Thanks for all your tips.. Hints.. And encouragement!

Jamie

Oh Jamie. Thank you so much for this note and letting me know of your GREAT progress. Hearing this has made my day!
